Husky’s are stubborn, playful show offs that relish human attention, but are also fiercely independent. Such was the case with Cora who was definitely top dog, something she rarely let Beau forget. Beau was the more sooky of the two, needing his mummy cuddles as reassurance. Unlike Cora, Beau is a malamute, a breed well known for love and and loyalty to their owners. Husky vs malamute aside, neither breed is great off lead, so we needed a contained area with less distractions of other smells and dogs. Though living down south, their mum decided to have the photos done up in Perth at her Aunties property. Her Aunt lives on a lovely property in the hills, perfect for the pet photography session.
Beau and Cora greeted me at the gate, tails wagging and barking up a storm. Things just started unfolding naturally, so the photo session started right off the bat. Though their mum wasn’t initially intending on being in the photos, the way they were interacting with each other was too cute not to capture. We used treats, toys and cuddles to get the best out of them. As Cora was a control freak and play police, we decided to hold her for a bit so that Beau could have some uninterrupted playtime. Something we were well rewarded by with his cute little prancing photo below!

Cora loves to boss around her brother Beau. When we are around Cora sets the boundaries and challenges them. Food, toys beds are all hers!
Their relationship has grown so much over the years. One day I caught them sleeping together on the same bed, the look on Cora’s face was priceless, sprung!
Why is having beautiful imagery of your pets important to you?
It is so comforting to know we will have beautiful pictures of our pups to treasure and comfort us when they are no longer with us.
