Bella the Blue Heeler and Koda the German Shorthaired Pointer really don’t mind what’s happening as long as they are invited. So that’s exactly how their pet photo shoot progressed. With epic enthusiasm, goofy moves, and lots of tongue kisses, Bella and Koda certainly entertained. Choosing to do a few photos at home first, we then continued to the river for golden hour. The resulting photos are exactly why sunrise and sunset are two of our favourite times of day for photo sessions. Seriously, how beautiful is that light!?

This mischievous pair of larrikins are the apple of their mums eyes. Tearing up at the mere talk of them becoming sick, it was easy to see that their mum, Ana, loves them more than anything. A feeling that clearly reciprocated, as you’ll see in the photo’s ;o)

Doing exactly what they want, when they want is something you’d probably expect from the participants of a pet photo shoot. As headstrong and mature pups Bella & Koda were no exception. Although this could be challenging for a control freak, that’s not me. Go with the flow, encourage the flow, and capture the flow has always been my motto! We know, we’re pretty groovy 😉 So this job suits me to a tee.

Firstly, what is your favourite thing about Bella & Koda?

Everything! 🙂 Aside from that, their unwavering loyalty and love which will stay with me for the rest of my life and without which, I would not be the person I am today. We grew up together and as it turns out, they taught me a lot more than I taught them. I truly believe they were a gift from God to speed me along in adulting (although we will suffer from Peter Pan syndrome and think we are teenagers) 🙂

We know every fur baby is unique, & in your totally unbiased opinion you have the best pets ever!
What makes yours so special?

Koda is epitome of love and kindness – it is contagious! He is lovingly referred to as ‘Sunshine’ because no matter what time of day or night it is, or weather conditions, his love brightens one’s day. Bella is known as ‘The Judge’ for she always observes and protects. In over 13 years we’ve had together, I have been unable to sneak up on her. Although I have made it my mission haha. Despite the reputation Heelers enjoy, she takes care of all the kids and quickly fetches an adult if there is discontent or tears!

Tell us something about Bella & Koda that will make us laugh?

Where do I start (or more appropriately, stop)!? If they don’t like what is being said, they apply good old trick of ‘if I can’t see you, you can’t see me’; Bella knocks sand castles over at the beach with her paw (swats it); She also threw a tantrum when her dad wouldn’t play fetch with her. She threw herself face first into sand so he went into water with her to wash her off. The moment they came out and she realised floating stingray toy wasn’t invited, she threw herself into sand face first again (I have photos, it is hilarious).

Koda lets out a stinky then walks away or looks around at who did it. He typically does it to his dad which is hilarious. He will seriously bring the stinkiest stinky to his dad, let it rip, make eye contact and walk off! At times he acts offended LOL

Why is having a pet photo shoot and beautiful imagery of Bella & Koda important to you?

Unfortunately, in this world we only get limited time with our best friends. The images Brenda and I shortlisted, make me relieve the moment all over again. Also, rather than hanging random things around the house, I wanted my beautiful doggos 🙂
