I was excited to meet Lily, the apricot toy poodle. I’d been told she is as small as a wee puppy and cute to boot. I entered, my eyes caught sight of her, and wow, what an understatement! There she sat in her PJ’s, nestled into her dad’s arms, and I immediately started snapping away. Caught up in her spell it took me a few minutes to see the movement happening in my peripheral. Pixie, Mouschi, Yukidama & Harbin, Lily’s kitty siblings, were running around making themselves quite conspicuous! Though I suspected they were just trying to hide.
Whilst Lily was the photoshoots feature, I kept my eyes and ears open for all photo opportunities. And I’m glad I did! The cats who were initially a little stubborn soon became captivating models. These images are some of the gold that happened, while we were busy making other plans.
Firstly, what is your favourite thing about Lily?
Well, Lily, the apricot toy poodle, totally believes she is the boss. Adrian, my husband, actually calls her the Big Boss [and tells people he is the bottom of the pack #7]. We also have 4 beautiful cats with such individual characters. I don’t have the heart to tell Lily, who thinks she controls the cats, that they are actually ignoring her persistent barking at them and think she is a tiresome nuisance.
We know every fur baby is unique, & in your totally unbiased opinion you have the best pets ever!
What makes yours so special?
I joke that Lily is like having a royal baby and we always need to allow extra time when out. She is our first dog and is absolutely cute with big ‘you can’t resist me’ brown eyes. She is very small [2.8kg] and sits nestled in my arms. We are constantly stopping for men, women, and children of all ages asking for a pat, “can the children pat her?”, and so on. Although she can be a thorough rascal at home, we are lucky that she is perfectly behaved when out and laps up the oohs and aahs, how adorable, so cute etc. She is also very well behaved with most other dogs too. She adores me (her mum) the most and it’s so heartwarming to come home to her always exuberant kisses and cuddles.
Tell us something about Lily that will make us laugh?
You know you have made it onto Lily’s ‘I adore you’ list when she gets so excited to see you she does a little wee while dancing around in excitement… So far it’s an exclusive list of only 3 people [not Adrian yet!].
Why is having beautiful imagery of your pets important to you?
An additional reminder of how important our pets are to us. We don’t have children so it’s a nice feeling to fill the walls with these wonderful images of our pets who share our house with us and make it a home.
