Every year hundreds of generous people make bequests to the RSPCA, helping them continue their great work. This year we were asked to help with cat photography of Alfredo and Eliza, and of course we said yes! Owned by Kate, one of their ever loyal volunteers and bequestors, Kate and her cats proudly featured in the RSPCA’s 2020 bequestor booklet.

Alfredo and Eliza, rescue cats, are the love of Kate’s life. As soon I was at the front door, I could hear this insistent “MEOW” coming from within. Instantly Alfredo came straight up to me and rubbed himself all over my leg as I entered. I knew from that moment this was going to be fun! He is a real cutey – maybe even cuter with just one eye. His facial expressions kept on cracking me up. Especially when he kept getting his lip stuck on his tooth. Eliza was not that excited to meet me, mostly because she was busy sleeping and cleaning herself. I guess she doesn’t care for fame and fortune, preferring a quite life of leisure instead. Needless to say, cat photography makes for a very entertaining time.

Firstly, what is your favourite thing about Alf & Eliza?

Their distinct personalities. Eliza is aloof and a one person cat.
Alfredo, on the other hand, is a social animal. He loves visitors and working for the camera.

We know every fur baby is unique, & in your totally unbiased opinion you have the best pets ever!
What makes yours so special?

Alfredo wants to be everywhere I am. He is my shadow, my constant, talkative companion. Having only one eye, he is even more special to me. Eliza on the other hand is a real madam. A solitary girl who wants her staff (me) to work quicker and quieter, so her sleep is not disturbed.

Tell us something about your pets that will make us laugh?

Alf is a talker. I tell him, “I love you, Alfredo.” He then asks “Mmmwhy?”

Why is having beautiful imagery of Alf & Eliza important to you?

They are family! Alf is featured in the RSPCA bequestor’s publication. What a show pony. Because of Eliza’s aloof personality, people often think she is a phantom. Studio Noah’s beautiful artwork is evidence that she actually exists.
